MA5B Assault Rifle & MA5K Carbine

This asset was created for use in The Cole Protocol, a Halo Arma 3 Total Conversion mod, developed by Black Element Studio. Heavily inspired by the Assault Rifle seen in Halo: Combat Evolved, the MA5B in Halo Wars, and the MA5D from Halo 4, this model sports the original MA5B proportions with additional details being stemmed from Halo Wars and additional functionality from Halo 4. The MA5K variant comes from Ghosts of Onyx, a Halo novel written by Eric Nylund. The MA5K is explained as a cut-down version of the standard MA5B with its electronics housing replaced by a removable carrying handle, and it appears here as exactly that. Designs used for the MA5K include the Ghosts of Onyx cover, illustrated by Isaac Hannaford, and a concept piece by Geoff Herndon posted on Twitter.
